What is the difference between Bungalow Type A and Type B?
Type A and Type B are not categories used by the hotel. They are a commercial coding used by the tour operator for the different room types. For accurate information and explanations, please contact your travel agency or Schauinsland Reisen.
Where exactly in the hotel is the bungalow with garden view located?

Is entry to the waterpark free for hotel guests? Is there a lifeguard? Is there an age limit?
Entry to the waterpark is free for hotel guests. There is always a lifeguard on site from 10:00 to 18:00 (daily opening hours). There is no age limit for access to the waterpark, though participation in certain activities is subject to physical condition, age and height requirements. The new 2025 section features a 700 sq.m outdoor playground, a swimming pool and a snack area for young guests.
What are the waterpark safety rules and useful tips?
- Use sunscreen to avoid sunburn.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- No glassware or alcoholic beverages on the premises.
- Wear appropriate swimwear; comfortable footwear advisable (short socks available at the Minimarket to protect feet from hot paving).
- Any inflatable items must be safety-cleared by our staff before use.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- No running and no diving in any pool.
- Keep your belongings monitored — the hotel assumes no responsibility for lost items.
- Follow the instructions of our safety staff at all times.
- Opening hours subject to weather.
- Jewellery, watches, zipper-equipped swimsuits and sharp objects are strictly forbidden on the slides.
Do kids need to be a certain height to use the waterslides?
Yes, for safety reasons some slides have height restrictions. The slides and water-play areas in the kiddie zone are designed for younger children and toddlers with no strict height requirement, provided they are supervised by an adult. (attachment of the Safety Norms file)
Are external customers allowed to enter the waterpark and hotel facilities?
External (non-staying) customers may access the waterpark, the beach, the restaurant and bar at the beach, sun loungers and gazebos for an additional charge — bookable at reception. Access to other hotel facilities (rooms, spa, kids' club, etc.) is not permitted.
What types of catering (board) are available and what are the differences?
Half Board: Breakfast & Dinner, no drinks included. All Inclusive: all listed drinks included. All Inclusive Platinum: all drinks plus a selection of wines free of charge (some wines 20% discount on catalogue prices); also includes free use of beach pavilions (gazebos) without service. Are sun loungers and gazebos included in the price?
Sun loungers are included with Half Board and All Inclusive. With All Inclusive Platinum, the beach gazebos are included (without service). The full gazebo service costs €30 and includes fruit, a Bottle of water and service on the beach. No reservation is required for sun loungers, either at the pool or on the beach.
Are the à la carte restaurants extra? How do I reserve? What are the costs?
- All guests (Half Board or All Inclusive) can make reservations at the à la carte restaurants — please book through the hotel application at least 24 hours in advance, subject to availability. Each restaurant may be used once per week per stay, free of charge.
- Elia A la Carte (creative cuisine): dinner 19:00–22:00, Menu A / B / C / D free.
- Thalassa Beach Restaurant: dinner 19:00–22:00 — BBQ Night and Greek specialties free. Drinks at Elia, Meze and Thalassa BBQ are charged as per the drinks menu (HB), 20% discount on the catalogue (AI), selected drinks free (AI Platinum).
Are there beach towels and how much do they cost?
Beach towels are available. You can exchange them daily at spa.
What dietary and allergy options are available?
On arrival, our Guest Relations team will ask about any allergies. If you are allergic to a specific food, we will issue a statement so our kitchen is fully informed. The buffet always includes vegetarian and vegan options; vegan/veggie dishes of the day are also available at Thalassa Beach Restaurant for lunch and to a la carte restaurants as well.
Are there bus stops nearby?
Yes — the nearest bus stop is located just outside the hotel.
Can I rent a car at the hotel? Is there parking? How much does it cost?
Yes, car rental can be arranged through reception — we will contact our partner agency, the chosen category is brought directly to the hotel, and the keys are handed over on site. Private on-site parking is available free of charge for our guests.
Can I book a taxi from the airport? Is there a minivan? What does it cost?
Yes, airport transfers can be booked through reception. If there are several passengers, our partner company automatically arranges a minivan. The cost depends on the number of passengers and the destination — please contact reception with your flight details and number of guests for an exact quote.
What activities are available outside the hotel?
Activities outside the hotel include horseback riding, snorkeling, boat rentals and water sports, all arranged through third-party providers. Nearby points of interest include Lake Kournas, the village of Georgioupolis (3 km), the town of Rethymno (~18 km) and Chania (~38 km). Reception can help you with information and bookings.
How does the Activity Pool differ from the Relax Pool?
The Activity Pool features music and various in-water activities run by the animation team throughout the day. The Relax Pool is the quiet alternative — no music, no organised activities — for guests who prefer a calm swim and a peaceful poolside.
In which languages does the animation team operate?
Our animation team speaks English, German and Greek.
Can I have a baby cot in the room? How do I request one?
Yes — baby cots are available free of charge. Please request one through your travel agent in advance, or directly at reception on arrival.
What is free in the spa area and what is for a fee?
Free for hotel guests: use of the fitness room, sauna, steam bath and relaxation pool. For an additional charge: the whirlpool and all massage and beauty treatments. Please book treatments at the spa reception or via the main reception. Entrance is permitted for guests aged 16 years and above.
In April are your pools heated? Is the water warm enough to swim?
Our swimming pools are not heated. In April, Crete enjoys a pleasant climate with daytime temperatures around 17 °C and highs up to 25 °C. The sea is around 17 °C — a refreshing dip rather than a warm swim. Most guests enjoy the sunshine on the loungers, but some do take a quick swim on sunny days.
In May are your pools heated? Is the water warm enough to swim?
The pools are not heated. In May, daytime temperatures average around 19 °C with highs up to 25 °C. The sea is around 19 °C — comfortable for a swim on sunny days, though still on the cool side for some guests.
In October are your pools heated? Is the water warm enough to swim?
The pools are not heated. In October, the sea remains pleasantly warm — around 22 °C, with some areas reaching 24 °C — making for an enjoyable swim, especially on sunny days. The pools are unheated but still very popular with our guests.
Can I visit the waterpark as a non-staying guest? How much does it cost?
Yes, the waterpark is open to visitors daily 10:00–18:00, including weekends.
For Greek citizens / permanent residents of Greece (proof required — ID or recent utility bill): Adults €17.50 (includes one soft drink or coffee inside the park); children 0–2 free; children 2–6 €9.00.
For tourists (non-residents of Greece): All Inclusive Day Pass €60 per person — includes park entrance plus all-inclusive food and drinks at the park restaurant 10:00–17:00; children 0–2 free; children 2–6 50% discount.
What are the check-in and check-out times? Can I arrive early or stay late?
Standard check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Early check-in can be requested at reception — if your room is ready on arrival, you can move in straight away. Late check-out is offered subject to availability for €10.00 per additional hour in the room.
Is Wi-Fi available? Is it free?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the hotel — in the rooms and in all public areas. The network name and password are provided at reception upon check-in.
What amenities are in the room?
All 155 rooms were fully renovated in 2023 and include: individually-controlled air conditioning, satellite/cable TV, direct-dial telephone, kettle, refrigerator, safe deposit box, hairdryer, private balcony or terrace, bath amenities, shower, closet/wardrobe, writing desk, wake-up service, and daily maid service. Non-smoking rooms are standard. Note: the safe deposit box is included for All Inclusive guests.
Is there a kids' club or teen club?
Yes, both are available. The Mini Club operates daily (except Mondays) and includes an outdoor playground, kids’ circuit, games, creative activities, and educational programs for younger children, supervised by the multilingual animation team. For children up to 3 years old, parental supervision is required. The Teen Club is open to guests aged 12–17 and runs every day (Mondays off), with sports, dance, fitness, cooking lessons, video games and a social club to meet others their age. Both are free of charge for hotel guests.
Do you offer babysitting services?
No, we do not offer babysitting services at the hotel.
What payment methods are accepted at the hotel?
We accept cash (EUR) and Visa and Mastercard credit/debit cards, including contactless payments. American Express is not accepted. Payments can be made at reception, at the bars and restaurants, and at the spa.
Is there an ATM at the hotel or nearby? What currency is used?
The local currency is the Euro (EUR). The nearest ATM is located in the village of Kavros, approximately 600 metres from the hotel. The hotel reception can also assist with general information about currency exchange.
Is tipping expected? How much is customary?
Tipping is not obligatory in Greece, as a service charge is already included in your bill. However, tips are always appreciated as a sign of good service. As a guideline, 1–2 euros per service (e.g. housekeeping, waiters, porters) is customary if you wish to leave something.
What are the reception's opening hours?
The reception is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No matter what time you arrive, there will always be a member of staff to welcome you. For guests arriving late in the evening, we also offer a late buffet (continental) from 22:30 to midnight.
What if I feel unwell? Is there a doctor or pharmacy nearby?
If you feel unwell, please contact reception immediately. We cooperate with a local doctor who can visit the hotel on call; the cost of the visit is charged separately. The nearest pharmacy is in the village of Kavros, approximately 600 meters from the hotel. In case of emergency, please dial 112 (European emergency number).
Are pets allowed at the hotel?
Pets are not allowed at Georgioupolis Resort.
What is the smoking policy?
All rooms and indoor public areas are non-smoking, in accordance with Greek law. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only. A cleaning fee may apply if smoking takes place inside a room.
Is there a laundry service?
Yes, a laundry service is available on the premises for an additional charge. Please find the laundry list in your room or ask at reception. Turnaround times and prices vary depending on the items and the service required.
Can you help with my luggage? Is there luggage storage?
Yes — your luggage will be carried to or from your room by a staff member at any time. If you need to store luggage on arrival day (before check-in) or on departure day (after check-out), reception will be happy to keep it for you free of charge.
What if I have an early departure or excursion and miss breakfast?
Upon prior notice, via the hotel application, our guests can request a Lunch Basket or an Early Breakfast to take away — ideal for early departures, excursions, or day trips. Please inform reception the evening before (before 19:00).
What is the beach like? How far is it from the hotel?
Our soft golden sandy beach is just 250 metres from the hotel and is awarded the EU Blue Flag certification by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) — recognising the highest standards in water and sand quality, safety, environmental education, services and management. Sun loungers are included for all guests.
How far is the hotel from local towns and airports?
Georgioupolis village: 3 km. Kavros village: 700 m. The beach: 250 m. Rethymno town: about 18 km. Chania town: about 38 km. Chania International Airport: approximately 45 km (about 45 minutes by car). Heraklion International Airport: approximately 120 km (about 90 minutes by car).
Is the mini bar in the room included, or is there an extra charge?
The minibar in the room is included only for guests with the All Inclusive Platinum package. For all other board types, the minibar is available with an extra charge according to the price list in the room.
Is a complimentary bottle of water provided in the room?
Yes, 1 bottle of water is provided free of charge in the room every day.
Is there an espresso machine in the room?

Is there in the hotel a baby stroller to rent?
Yes, baby strollers are available for rent at the hotel with an additional charge of 5€ per day

How far is the beach and how do we get there?
The beach of Peristeras is located approximately 250 meters from the hotel.For the convenience of our guests, we provide complimentary shuttle service with our club car.

Is there a dress code at dinner?
For dinner, we kindly ask our guests to follow a smart casual dress code. Especially for gentlemen, long trousers and closed shoes are required. Wet clothes and swimwear are not permitted in the restaurant.
What are the themed dinner buffets?
We offer 14 different themed evenings (e.g. Fish Night, Gala Dinner, Greek Night, Oriental & Anatolian Night, Cretan Buffet).
How many drinks can I order at the bar?
A maximum of two drinks per person is served at a time. Alcohol consumption is not permitted for guests under 18.

Yes, there is a mini market available inside the hotel for our guests.
Do you provide baby essentials during the stay, such as diapers, baby food, or baby wipes?
